Position Overview:
We are a dynamic and innovative energy trading company based in Princeton, NJ. Our team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Infrastructure Developer to help manage our infrastructure systems and support our team. As an IT Infrastructure Developer/Engineer, you will assist in maintaining and optimizing our organization's infrastructure setup, network configuration, server management, etc. You will work closely with the IT team to find optimized solution to diverse problems, as well as provide technical support to other colleagues. Key Responsibilities:
- Learn latest technology and provide ideas on solving real industry problems!
- Take part in server optimization, server management and data center experience.
- Participate in identity management, cloud solution configuration based on needs.
- Provide insights on optimizing infrastructure system via experiments like attack simulation via enterprise tools.
- Support the deployment and configuration of software and hardware systems, ensuring secure configurations for all network devices.
- Monitor system performance, identify vulnerabilities, and troubleshoot technical and security-related issues.
- Perform system updates, backups, patches, and security hardening across the infrastructure.
- Provide network security support, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and access control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for network security in IT projects.
Qualifications:
- M.S. or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, system administration, Active Directory and domain controller concepts
- Fast learner and strong will to keep learning!
- Solid understanding of network concepts including firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and secure protocols (SSL/TLS, IPsec).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cybersecurity tools, and DevOps tools like Docker, Jenkins, or Terraform for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and version control (Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot both technical and security-related issues.
- Good communication skills and a proactive team player.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools such as intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewalls, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools, and network monitoring systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java, with an emphasis on creating security automation tools or scripts is a plus.
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basic database administration with a focus on security best practices is a plus.
- Experience or familiarity with penetration testing or vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Nmap) to identify security gaps and improve defenses is a plus.
- Experience with trading analysis automation or familiarity with financial systems and algorithms used for automated trading is a plus.
- Knowledge of database optimization (both cloud and local) with a focus on improving performance and scalability for large data sets, especially in trading or financial environments, is a plus.
- No prior working experience required, but it is a plus if you have previous experience or internships related to IT systems, network administration, or security.
